POSITION SUMMARY:

Main purpose of the job: own the regulatory compliance assessment, label development, and approvals of specific brand(s) within the Nestle portfolio. You will also be responsible for engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to influence the regulatory agenda of Nestle USA and drive the company's competitive advantage in order to meet organizational goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, key responsibilities that you will drive include:

* Drive for competitive advantage by contributing to innovation, renovation and harmonization projects in area of responsibility.

* Understand the business environment, basic market consumer trends, including key competitor activity within the context of Regulatory and Scientific Affairs

* Ensure compliance by design of labels and other product communications through execution of day-to-day routines (Data Entry, Validation, Claim Substantiation, Digital, 3rd Party Certifications Etc.).

* Develop components of product label including ingredient statement, allergen declaration, nutrition facts panel, net weight statement and substantiated claims, that meet government requirements, and standards of identity.

* Collaborate with and be recognized as brand lead providing guidance to cross-functional partners for project teams, including commercial marketing, legal, nutrition, health and wellness, and product development.

* Collaborate with cross functional partners to anticipate, communicate and resolve/mitigate risks or issues

* Monitor the regulatory environment and watch for trends in local and international spheres for the product category and topic area that you own to assess impact on our products and business; implement changes where you see the chance for optimization within the compliance period

* Engage with authorities (USDA/FDA), agencies and/or trade associations to represent Nestle positions in the market (where applicable)

* Contribute effectively to the foundation of the Regulatory team by maintaining compliance tools, updating policies and procedures, contributing to Regulatory must win priorities and striving for continuous improvement to enable products to get to market quickly

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

* Requires BS/BA, preferably in nutrition and/or food science; MS/MA preferred. BS/BA in another field with 2+ years relevant regulatory experience in the food industry will be considered.

EXPERIENCE:

* 2+ years experience in the food industry, primarily in regulatory affairs, regulatory compliance, food labeling, nutrition or product development.

SKILLS:

* Results-oriented team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

* Organized and detail-oriented, with solid analytical and decision-making skills.

* Strong verbal and written communications skills, along with influencing and negotiation skills, process knowledge in functional area, and an ability to communicate regulatory and technical issues in clear, concise terms to non-technical audiences.

* Knowledgeof FDA/USDA food labeling regulations and documentation requirements.
