Summary:
This position is a key role within the St. Louis Lubrication Management Factory leadership team. The Distribution Manager is responsible for and will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of products. This role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and quality of all distribution processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of warehouse operations, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and distributing products.
- Ensure accurate inventory management and control, including regular stock checks and audits.
- Continually monitor workload, staff levels and shift patterns to maximize output
- Develop and implement efficient distribution strategies to optimize workflow and reduce costs.
- Supervise and train warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and maintain warehouse equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage labor relations, including handling grievances, negotiating with union representatives, and ensuring adherence to collective bargaining agreements.
- Implement and sustain continuous improvement principles in warehouse to improve operational efficiencies.
- Work closely with Customer Solutions and Quality to minimize customer complaints related to distribution errors
- Continuously contributes to the development and improvement of existing processes and procedures as necessary ensuring adherence to factory, group, and corporate policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, operations management or related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in shipping, logistics and warehouse management.
- Proven management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a unionized environment and managing labor relations.
- Must be able to effectively interact at all levels within the Company with strong written and verbal communication skills.
