Trade Compliance Officer, Req. 2192
The Trade Compliance Officer provides guidance, work products, and authorizations to ensure company trade compliance with all U.S. Government regulations to include the: International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); Export Administration Regulations (EAR); Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC); Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF); and other USG agencies as needed. Essential Functions: * Provide trade compliance guidance and export authorization strategy on new business opportunities, proposals and contracts. * Review program requirements, determine export authorizations needed, and then develop, submit, and execute exemption or licensing as needed. * Coordinate export documentation requirements with Shipping/Receiving and Program Management. * Evaluate and authorize the release of international shipments, technical data and defense services to foreign persons. * Execute AES/EEI and DFE filings. * Coordinate imports with program management, purchasing, shipping, and customs broker for import clearances, licenses / exemptions and duty. * Train personnel in available export authorizations prior to foreign interactions. * Monitor company activities for import or export violations and report to company management and US agencies. * Maintain registrations or bonds with DDTC, ATF, Customs Broker, AES, etc. * Be the primary company focal point with US Government agencies for all import and export inquiries. * Assess and certify company compliance with Federal laws concerning import/export. He/she will maintain comprehensive import/export records as required by federal law. Provide reports to US Government agencies and Corporate as appropriate. * Train, manage, and empower trade compliance personnel in the activities as described herewith. Education: * Bachelor's degree preferred - experience may be considered in lieu of degree Experience: * Must be an empowered official. * Detailed working knowledge of current U.S. government export and import regulations. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. * Must be able to make critical decisions independently. * Standard computer skills required. |
