Position Type: Full-Time Class Category Faculty Job Open Date 01/31/2025 Job Close Date 03/28/2025 Open Until Filled Yes Initial Screen Date: Minimal Qualifications: Associate's degree in HVAC/R or qualifying field with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience; OR Associate's degree in any field and a combination of formal training, 8 years of work experience and professional tested experience; OR A minimum of 10 years of verifiable work experience in the HVAC industry. Minimum Qualifications can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, formal training (such as an apprenticeship in a related field) and professional tested experience that provides a foundation in the specific subject matter being taught. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Preference will be given to individuals who possess: Experience teaching basic electrical theory (AC) as applied to HVAC. Experience teaching Gas Heating as relates to the residential setting. Experience teaching Air Conditioning as relates to the residential setting. Experience teaching system installation process / procedures as relates to the residential setting. Experience teaching the 'properties of air' (psychrometric charts', mixed airflow calculations, etc.) Successfully completed HVAC training / education in a recognized institution or program. Curriculum development in HVAC content. Experience teaching in a community college setting. Work Hours Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs. Compensation Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Ability to work well with others. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
