The Electronics Technician will be responsible for designing, testing, and troubleshooting printed circuit boards (PCBs) while supporting the development and optimization of electronic systems.

Essential Functions


  • Design and create PCB layouts using CAD software (such as Altium Designer or KiCad) based on schematic diagrams and engineering requirements.
  • Assemble, test, and debug electronic circuits and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure PCB designs meet functional, thermal, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including assembly instructions, bills of materials (BOM), and design revisions.
  • Perform electrical testing and validation to ensure circuit performance and reliability.
  • Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PCBs and electronic devices, identifying root causes of failures.
  • Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to ensure timely and quality production.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, including IPC specifications and safety regulations.

Required Education and Experience


  • Associate's degree or technical diploma in electronics engineering, electrical engineering technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in PCB layout design and electronic circuit assembly/testing.
  • Proficiency with PCB design software (Altium, Eagle, KiCad, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of electronic components, circuit design, and signal integrity.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, rework, and surface-mount technology (SMT).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610) is a plus.


Preferred Education and Experience


  • Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller programming.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) principles.
  • Ability to interpret and create schematics and wiring diagrams.
