THIS IS A REMOTE ROLE.

This candidate will report to the General Counsel and be an integral member of the legal team responsible for the day-to-day legal work related to US employment law matters, and legal aspects of PCI's ESG program. The role also includes oversight of PCI's litigation matters and support for certain legal compliance initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Provide direct legal support on a full range of North American employment law issues relating to the entire employee lifecycle, including but not limited to: recruiting, hiring, training, performance management, compensation, leaves of absence, return to work and accommodation issues, benefits, terminations, and other employment related topics
  • Advise on labor and employment law compliance, including but not limited to wage and hour laws, labor laws, health and safety, discrimination, harassment, leave and disability accommodation laws, and other employment related laws and regulations
  • Oversee and direct internal investigations in addition to managing litigation, claims, agency charges, and government investigations internally.
  • Develop, revise, and implement best in class employment policies, procedures, and scalable training solutions
  • Provide legal advice and support PCI's initiatives on a range of ESG related topics, including those involving human rights, labor and governance issues
  • Provide legal advice related to PCI's compliance programs
  • Manage PCI's open litigation matters, including oversight of external counsel

Qualifications

  • JD degree from a nationally recognized law school
  • Admitted to the Bar of at least one state and eligible for admission as in-house counsel.

Work Experience

  • 6 years or more of legal experience as US employment law attorney. Experience with life science / CDMO is preferred.

  • Must possess excellent legal judgment and business acumen.
  • Must be able to work comfortably in an intense, fast-paced environment, must be responsive to the needs of his/her business partners, have a high energy level, be hands-on, and have the judgment/confidence to be able to execute under pressure in a timely way.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must demonstrate gravitas and excellent communication skills necessary to engender the confidence of the members of senior management.
  • Must inspire confidence through the strength of his or her intellect, judgment, leadership style, and ability to manage interpersonal relationships at all levels.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively with senior management, and collaboratively with other corporate functions, including HR and Finance.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, project management and technological skills.
  • U.S. Eastern Time Zone is preferred.
