The Clinical Research Systems Project Director assesses system needs of the Jefferson clinical research enterprise, develops proposals for new system needs based on the strategic plan for clinical research and implements system solutions. Responsible for all clinical research system project managers that provide administrative activities for JCRI Systems managed projects. This position will have oversight of various enterprise-wide clinical research systems-related activities including, but not limited to application administration, new system implementations, integrating / enhancing existing systems, website management, and documentation development. The position will oversee the team that provides research systems support to other offices, including the Jefferson Office of Human Research Protection (JOHRP), for the implementation and management of information systems supporting clinical research. The position will also provide information systems expertise to leadership with the overall goal of increasing efficiency for the clinical research community.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Initiate new projects and manage implementation / integration processes. Manages resource allocation, process mapping, procedure documentation, user acceptance testing, and system announcements
  • Lead administrator for Jefferson's Clinical Trial Management System (JeffTrial). Oversees team that creates and monitors user accounts, ensures proper use and data completion and provides reports to leadership. Oversees update of JeffTrial to include a Financial Module that will help to streamline pre- and post-award management activities.
  • Oversees integration of new subject renumeration system with JeffTrial to improve coordinator workflows and reduce existing duplicative data entry requirements.
  • Lead administrator for enterprise-wide subject payment system. Oversees team that create and monitor user accounts, approve transactions and ensure appropriate card supply is maintained for the research community.
  • Lead administrator of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) review and submission system (iMedris). Oversees team that performs upgrades, promotes enhancements, and quality assurance in collaboration with vendor as needed.
  • Liaise and collaborate with Jefferson IS&T in planning and implementing projects to ensure appropriate development and support of research systems across the enterprise.
  • Develop written standardized processes for systems operation activities
  • Collaborate in development and support of Epic tools related to clinical research enterprise wide.
  • Develop and implement reports for Deputy Provost for Research and other members of the executive leadership team.
  • Oversee team that develops and maintains the JCRI website(s)/links.
  • Oversee integration of research systems for controlled affiliates.
  • Oversee development and implementation of research systems simulation tool in collaboration with internal stakeholders that will be used for onboarding and training future clinical coordinators throughout the enterprise.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required; master's degree preferred.

AND

Experience:

5-10 years of experience in Project Management with a systems focus Clinical research and EMR experience preferred.

Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:

  • PMP Preferred
