Summary

Data Quality & Data Governance Analyst / Senior

We're looking for a Data Quality & Data Governance Analyst / Senior to play a key role in advancing our data management and governance initiatives. In this role, you'll ensure that data is accurate, consistent, secure, and strategically utilized to drive business decisions and improve the customer experience.


What Your Day Would Be Like:

  • Partner with Data Architects, Analysts, Stewards, and IT teams to execute data management initiatives and ensure compliance.
  • Design and implement governance structures, processes, and tools to strengthen data integrity and security.
  • Lead data governance efforts related to data cataloging and data quality, expanding data management practices to enhance the customer experience.
  • Work with data stewards to identify critical data elements, document business terms in Collibra, and drive data quality improvements.
  • Support major projects ensuring data is cataloged, properly governed, and maintains high-quality standards.
  • Contribute developing Data Strategy, operationalize and implement data governance framework working with IT and Business partners

Minimum Requirements
Data Quality & Data Governance Analyst


  • Bachelors or Masters degree in business, information technology or a related field
  • AND five (5) years related data management and/or business operations experience or an equivalent combination of and relevant college coursework and related data management
  • OR business operations experience totaling nine (9) years.
  • General understanding of business functions, information objects, and connection of information objects to KPIs and metrics in Utility industry.
  • General knowledge and understanding of business systems, basic knowledge of data design, structure, functions and processes.
  • 2-3 years of data governance, data quality, data conversion/cleansing experience using automated tools is preferred.
  • Agile Delivery experience is preferred.



Data Quality & Data Governance Analyst, Senior



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, information technology, data science, or a related field
  • AND eight (8) years related data management and/or business operations experience,
  • OR Master's degree in engineering, business, information technology, data science, or a related field
  • AND six (6) years related data management and/or business operations experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of relevant college coursework and related data management and/or business operations experience totaling eleven (11) years.



AdditionalSkills



  • 2-3 years of data governance, data quality, data conversion/cleansing experience using automated tools (like Collibra) is preferred
  • Excellent communication, Interpersonal Skills, critical thinking, problem solving and quality management practices.
  • Excellent SQL and data analysis skills. Experience with API and Programming is plus.
  • Experience working with multiple levels of organization
  • Analytical ability to review data, identify issues, and see relationships and patterns
  • Ability to articulate business needs in technology requirements and in the form of agile backlog

Major Accountabilities

  • Performs key role in turning data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions.
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of the Data Governance Program for a specific data business unit domain.
  • Identifies and manages critical data management issues, inefficiencies and risks including inaccurate data and inconsistent application of data. Collaborates with business stakeholders and data management and analytics team to develop, recommend and implement appropriate solutions or corrective actions.


  • Manages Enterprise data catalog and data quality platform (Collibra).
  • Manages the updates to the Data Governance Knowledge Repository to maintain all metadata including data dictionary, data lineage, and data models.


  • Leads or collaborates in identifying and proposing solutions to data quality issues including data accuracy, validity, and consistency.
  • Collaborates with business and IT in developing and defining data policies, rules, and standards, facilitates implementation, and monitors compliance.
  • Provides analysis and guidance to the business around data quality metrics.
  • Develops and delivers data management capabilities and initiatives which include data usage, data governance, data quality, and data security.
  • Works with business unit representatives to understand business needs and define user requirements. Establishes priorities and appropriate tradeoffs for system functionality and performance.
  • Develops and delivers appropriate user and business requirements communications to support implementation.
  • Performs ongoing scope evaluation of technical, functional, performance, and user-value tradeoffs and identifies system or data priorities to maximize benefits received.
  • Participates in Functional Solution Design and works with data visualization and IT to review options for identifying the data sources, data flow, and data presentation.
