We're seeking a detailed oriented, self-motivated professional with technical aptitude and a service mindset to join the Payroll team as a Payroll Technician. The Payroll Technician is an essential member of the Payroll Team and performs a broad range of duties to help ensure the timely and accurate delivery of payroll to our employees.

What You'll Do

As a Payroll Technician you will:

  • Perform processing and reviews of various payroll transactions, processes and controls. This may include ensuring accuracy concerning the employees' salaries and related withholdings, use of software to track employee information, entering data and transactions, processing changes and maintaining records. These processes and transactions require a comprehensive understanding of workflows throughout the department.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are authorized and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare wire requests and reconciliations.
  • Prepare, review, and distributes standardized payroll reports and exhibits ensuring timeliness and accuracy. Address unusual activity, investigates issues and conduct follow up as needed. Assist with specialized or ad-hoc reporting requests and procedure recommendations.
  • Identify problems and relevant issues using standard procedures, analyze possible solutions, and assist with implementing changes and communication plans. Escalate more complex issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to prior to processing the transactions.
  • Review and maintain procedural instructions and documentation.

Additionally, you will:

  • Respond to inquiries from employees and supervisors regarding payroll related issues.
  • Prepare journal entries, reversals, voids, deletions, and payment requests.
  • Conduct periodic quality control audits and assists with annual financial statement preparation.
  • Work with the manager to establish and implement efficient workflows and auditing mechanisms.
  • Participate in and suggests improvement to department related training and development activities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.

What it Takes

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 1 year of related work experience
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation
  • Maturity and discretion in handling highly confidential information
  • Experience within a payroll, HR or financial function or related operational experience
  • Ability to listen effectively and convey ideas in written and verbal forms
  • Detail oriented including basic problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Applied knowledge of PC-based business software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
  • Ability to meet established deadlines and productivity percentages
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
