Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The Autism Programs at the CDD is seeking to staff multiple, full-time, Clinic Coordinator roles to support and coordinate the day-to-day administrative activities for a variety of clinics at the CDD including Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASEC), the Feeding & Eating clinic (SAFE), the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Program (FASD), Neurocognitive Assessment Clinic (NCAC), the NM START clinic and other clinical services in the Autism & Other Developmental Disabilities division.

The Clinic Coordinators work as part of a team that supports clinical functions. The ideal candidate will have experience scheduling in PowerChart, providing customer service in a clinical setting, and knowledge of medical records management and billing procedures. This position will purchase supplies with a P-card, process travel arrangements and reimbursements, make and answer phone calls, perform data entry, run queries for internal reporting purposes, prepare standard forms, edit and proof documents.

The Autism Programs at the CDD is a large, multi-faceted program with multiple funding streams and projects that support individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families to live the life of their choosing. This is accomplished through clinical evaluation/diagnosis, extensive community training, consultation and other forms of technical assistance. The Autism Programs has expanded their clinical efforts to include a multidisciplinary team assessment for individuals suspected of ASD, ASD/IDD and mental health challenges.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Experience

  • providing administrative support (especially scheduling) in a direct service environment;
  • using computerized information systems for financial and accounting applications (Banner, Chrome River), including proficiency in using purchasing cards (p-card);
  • scheduling and coordinating meetings and events, including travel and lodging arrangements;
  • working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Demonstrated patient or customer service skills in a clinical setting with experience handling private information and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Computer and software skills, with demonstrated ability to learn new software programs.
  • Knowledge of medical records management and billing procedures.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) speaking skills.
