Fraud Data Analyst, Consultant

Your Role

The Internal Audit Services team oversees the internal fraud detection program at Blue Shield. The Fraud Data Analyst Consultant will report to the Director of Fraud Detection Technology and Investigations. In this role you will work closely with the Director and other team members to design and implement proactive fraud analytics for internal business owners across the enterprise to better identify and continuously monitor for potential internal fraud. This technically focused role will involve writing and testing code, building data pipelines, and implementing analytical models to identify and mitigate potential fraud, waste, and abuse within our internal operations. This position requires strong programming skills, experience with relational databases, and a passion for data analysis.

Your Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in software development or data analysis
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience working with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Demonstrated ability to write and test code effectively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
• Experience with cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., AWS, Snowflake) is a plus
• Fraud-related certifications are highly desired (e.g., CFE)
