PRIMARY FUNCTION

Assesses products to determine fitness for use. Conducts in-process and final inspection of parts and components. Maintains inspection records.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

Measurement tools not limited to, but including: micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, dial indicators, hardness testers, surface finish gauges and CMM. Material handling equipment: fork truck, cranes, and hoists.

SAMPLE WORK PROCEDURE



  1. Performs initial inspection of parts and communicates findings.
  2. Conducts in-process inspection on repaired parts after the machining operation. (Verifies dimensions prior to breaking mill or lathe set-up.)
  3. Utilizes CMM to perform pre and post inspection of parts.
  4. Partners with other departments to identify quality problems and implement solutions.
  5. Performs daily housekeeping as required.
  6. Observes all safety rules.
