Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital program, is dedicated to healing the invisible wounds - including post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, depression, co-occurring substance use disorder, family relationship challenges and other issues associated with Military service - for Veterans of all eras, Service Members, Military Families and Families of the Fallen through world-class clinical care, wellness, education, and research.
Working under the supervision of the Neuropsychology Team Lead, the Senior Psychometrist administers a wide range of standardized neuropsychological tests to adult patients with a diverse range of acquired or developmental neurocognitive disorders. Testing is done in conjunction with the clinical interview of the patient/family member(s)/caregiver(s) by the staff neuropsychologist, who may also conduct some of the testing. The Senior Psychometrist will also score the tests and compile a data sheet for each patient. Other responsibilities include maintenance of test equipment and record forms in working condition and good supply, as well as establish/maintain appropriate testing environments. The Senior Psychometrist will also engage in professional development and educational activities as needed (e.g., staff training seminars, attendance at grand rounds/departmental meetings)

Summary:
Working under the supervision of the Neuropsychologist, the Psychometric Technician will assist in administering a wide range of standardized neuropsychological tests to patients with a diverse range of acquired or developmental neurocognitive disorders. This position assists in the cognitive evaluation of patients by administering, scoring and reporting the results of standardized tests of mental ability, as well as recording behavioral observations of patients during testing. Will train and mentor new technicians

Essential Functions
-Manage weekly schedule of psychometrist testing, matching with neuropsychologists.
-Track and maintain all testing supplies.
-Work with neuropsychologists to develop training program for new hires.
-Assist in hiring of and lead training of all new psychometry technicians.
-Administer standardized neuropsychological tests that assess cognitive and behavioral functioning (including intelligence, attention/executive functions, memory, language, visuospatial/quantitative abilities, mood, and personality) to patients.
-Observe patients during and after testing, record behavioral observations and report to psychologist any information that may affect the validity of test results.
-Research activities to include pre-screening and recruitment of research subjects, coordinate study visits, data collection/entry, assisting in grant submission preparation, preparing research for presentation at conference and for publication in medical and scientific journals, perform literature reviews, prepare progress reports, and keeping current with IRB and regulatory requirements of research projects.
-Accurately score all tests per standardized methods. Maintain an up-to-date and thorough knowledge of the scoring procedures for a wide variety of neuropsychological measures.
-Create summary score sheets for each patient, detailing their performance by cognitive domain compared to the normative sample for each test.
-Help establish and maintain an appropriate testing environment.
-Enter scores and other data into a database as necessary.

Experience
prior experience with neuropsychological testing 2-3 years required knowledge of SPSS 0-1 year preferred
