The PhD Formulation Chemist plays a pivotal R&D role in developing the formulation and supporting integration of organic photoconductors by leveraging technical expertise, leading cross-functional collaboration, and driving innovation in material science to ensures that the photoconductors meet high-performance standards and are produced efficiently and reliably.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Technical Expertise: Possess broad knowledge of polymers, charge generation, charge transport, and nano metal oxides. Experience with nano dispersions, polymeric solutions, coating science and technology is preferred.

  • Product Development:Lead the technical development of organic photoconductors to meet laser printer performance requirements. Ensure that photoconductors are optimized to meet stringent performance requirements, focusing on aspects like charge efficiency, durability, and print quality.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supplies integration, product engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product support teams, to drive robust formulation, scale-up, reliable manufacturing, system integration and qualification of new products.

  • Experimental Design and Analysis:Plan and execute designed experiments, utilize statistical software to analyze experimental results, identify relationships and trends, and make data-driven decisions. Develop actionable plans based on test outcomes to deliver photoconductors that meet product performance requirements.

  • Communication:Communicate findings effectively through verbal updates and detailed written reports. Ensure that stakeholders are informed of progress, challenges, and achievements.

  • Material Exploration: Identify and investigate new materials for photoconductor formulations. Work effectively with the material sourcing team on material supply risk mitigation. Lead technical interactions with raw material suppliers.

  • Technical Support:Provide technical support to the manufacturing and quality teams. Assist in troubleshooting issues that arise during production, ensuring that products meet quality standards and performance specifications.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with polymers, charge generation, charge transport, and nano metal oxides.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with statistical design and analysis of experiments.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary Range:

  • $90,000 - $189,000, based on relevant experience, training, and education.
