Cloud Security Engineer

In the role of Cloud Security Engineer, you will report to the Digital Development Manager and dotted line to the Lead Release Train Engineer (RTE).This position is based out of our Irving, TX or Denver, CO offices, hybrid model.

In this role you will:

  Be proficient in infrastructure provisioning using Terraform in cloud environments.

  
  

• 
  

  Have extensive experience with Azure cloud services and Kubernetes orchestration.

  
  

• 
  

  Be familiarity with ArgoCD and Argo workflows is a strong advantage.

  
  

• 
  

  Have deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Cloud native tools and technologies.

  
  

• 
  

  Have experience using IAC tools (Terraform etc.) used primarily by DevOps teams to automate various infrastructure tasks.

  
  

• 
  

  Have a strong background in security tools with a focus on integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.

  
  

• 
  

  Be proactive in proposing and implementing best practices and driving change across teams.

  
  

• 
  

  Be involved in system design and operations management, including solution analysis, testing, and integration.

  
  

• 
  

  Will contributes to creating internal knowledge resources and influencing technical decisions to enhance system resilience and operability in the cloud environment.

  
  

You will be responsible for:

• 
  

  Responsible for integrating a large Digital Factory comprising more than 100 cross-functional team members including Scrum teams, Product Owners, developers, QAs, and Cloud Specialists.

  
  

• 
  

  Collaborate within the Cloud team and engage with backend/frontend architects, lead developers, and other stakeholders to drive cloud engineering initiatives.

  
  

• 
  

  Enhance the existing CI/CD pipeline to prioritize security-first practices and promote security by design principles.

  
  

• 
  

  Provision and develop cloud-native tools to automate operational tasks and administrative processes.

  
  

• 
  

  Provide key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting to demonstrate the impact of cloud engineering practices on security and overall risk reduction.

  
  

• 
  

  Allocate 80% of effort towards building and implementing cloud solutions, with the remaining 20% dedicated to supporting development teams and addressing priority requests.

  
  

You will bring with you:

• 
  

  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

  
  
• 
  

  Minimum of 2+ yearsexperience in computer science or a related scientific discipline.

  
  

• 
  

  Minimum of 2+ yearsexperience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles.

  
  
• 
  

  Must be authorized to work for Sonepar USA in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future

  
  

• 
  

  Demonstrates a proactive approach, analytical mindset, and the ability to take ownership of and drive initiatives independently.

  
  

• 
  

  Proficient in high-level programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or Python for cloud engineering tasks.

  
  

• 
  

  Knowledge of Dynamics 365 solutions is a significant advantage.

  
  

• 
  

  Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms like Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and expertise in microservices architecture.

  
  

• 
  

  Proficiency in at least two components of the following technology stack: Spring (Java), React, Next.js, GraphQL, Azure.

  
  

• 
  

  Skilled in setting up and optimizing pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.

  
  

• 
  

  Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

  
  

• 
  

  Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum and SAFe) and IT Service Management (ITSM) practices in cloud engineering contexts.

  Will work out of our Irving, TX or Denver, CO offices, hybrid model.
