Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Neurodiagnostic Technician 1 to join the team. This role will be a Full Time Days/Nights, on call. Sign-on Bonus & Relocation assistance eligible.

Neurodiagnostic Technician 1 Job Responsibilities


  • Documents, eliminates or takes proper measures to monitor the artifact.
  • Schedules appointments, greets patients/families and provides testing instructions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients of all ages in specific services or units.
  • Cleans, adjusts and makes minor repairs to testing equipment or reports issues to appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills with patients, patient families, Laboratory staff, physicians and other members of the hospital staff.
  • Ensures accurate diagnostic results of electroencephalogram recordings to patients of any age to provide quality Neurodiagnostic procedures consistent with departmental policies.
  • Keeps equipment clean and in proper working order by using knowledge of basic infection control/universal precautions relating to patients and equipment - including electrodes.
  • Identifies clinical seizure types by utilizing knowledge of neuroanatomy and physiology while taking appropriate actions during patient emergency situations.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Neurodiagnostic Technician 1 Additional Requirements



  • Certification - Basic Life Support; Eligible for and successful completion of the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation EEG board examination with the achievement as a Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG T), must be obtained within two years of hire
  • Licensure - None required
  • Experience - None
  • Education - High School diploma or equivalent
