Job: Front End Relief

Shift: D Shift 6:45pm - 7am

Base Rate: $25.15 plus shift differential

SUMMARY

The primary objective of this position is to maintain a consistent uninterrupted production process to ensure consistent and predictable products are produced while relieving operators for breaks.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Must be familiar and knowledgeable with all positions of the front end
  • Relieve each person on the back end for their personal and lunch breaks as scheduled
  • Operate all equipment safely, effectively, and efficiently while giving breaks
  • Perform product testing as required


  • Operate lift truck in a safe, productive manner in accordance with all safety procedures
  • Fill out daily checklist for forklift as needed
  • Replace LP tanks as needed following all safety procedures


  • Assist with clean-up and breaks
  • Housekeeping - operate sweeper, ensure work areas are maintained and assist as requested in other areas


  • Assist in lace up for start-ups and after breaks, perform other misc. duties required by shift supervisor
  • Perform other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor
  • Participate in safety and good housekeeping programs established in the plant
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures
  • Notify your supervisor immediately of any accident, near miss accident or on-the-job injury when it occurs no matter how insignificant it may seem
  • Operate equipment only when you are trained in its use or are working with or under the direction of a qualified employee, and you are authorized to do so by your supervisor


  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The employee should hold the following abilities:



  • Knowledge of all front-end positions
  • Posses some leadership skills
  • Knowledge of all finished product
  • Knowledge of storage areas and overall warehouse
  • Good oral and written skills
  • Basic mathematics skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure


COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES

The employee must be able to:



  • Logging into and navigate company intranet to access for paycheck/benefits enrollment information
  • Logginginto and navigate Learning Management System and accomplish required online training


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • Have passed lift truck training program and have a forklift operators license


ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:



  • Ability to routinely lift up to 40 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to routinely lift up to 80 lbs with assistance
  • Work for up to 12 hours in extreme hold/cold manufacturing environment
  • Walk/stand on concrete floors continuously for up to 12 hours
  • Routinely ascend and descend stairs to enter work areas
  • Safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - steel toed shoes, ear plugs, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or facemask) as necessary for task
  • Push/Drive floor sweeping and cleaning equipment or tools as necessary for housekeeping duties
  • Lifting and carrying (up to 40 lbs) from Auto Catcher to seconds re-wrap or recycle/trash receptacle.
  • Ability to rotate and work shift work
  • Ability to help with all line breaks and lace-ups
