Building Plans Reviewer

We are looking for a Building Plans Reviewer to support the Geotechnical group.

The Building Plans Reviewer is responsible for overseeing the enforcement of building codes and regulations within the jurisdiction. This role involves conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and providing guidance on construction practices. The Building Plans Reviewer plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of construction projects and ensuring that all buildings are safe, accessible, and built to code.

Licensed as a building code administrator, building code inspector, or plans examiner.
• Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes.
• Review plans and specifications for new construction, alterations, and repairs to determine compliance with applicable codes.
• Analyze construction contracts and documentation to ensure all requirements are met before project approval.
• Collaborate with contractors, architects, and engineers to address any issues related to building standards or code violations.
• Perform quality inspections throughout various stages of construction to ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality control measures.
• Research data collection methods to assess trends in building practices and recommend improvements or updates to existing codes.
• Provide guidance and support to stakeholders regarding building regulations and best practices in construction management.
• Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings, code violations, and necessary corrective actions.

• Education evaluated on a case-by-case basis
• Proven experience in construction inspection or management is preferred.
• Strong understanding of quality inspection processes and quality control measures within the construction industry.
• Familiarity with analyzing contracts related to construction projects.
• Excellent research skills for data collection and analysis related to building practices.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex information regarding building codes and regulations to diverse audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on ensuring safety and compliance on construction sites.
• Relevant certifications or licenses in building inspection or code enforcement are a plus.
