Job Summary:

This position will function as a lead food and beverage server in the Fluno Center dining room, Break Station on UW Madison campus. Job duties include taking customer's orders, delivering orders, utilizing POS system, set up, service and clean-up of high end catered events.

Responsibilities:
Performs customer service and related activities in campus catering operations following established procedures and best practices to assure high quality catering services.

  • 60% Leads service for retail venues and catered events
  • 10% Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
  • 10% Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
  • 20% Trains and guides service staff.

Qualifications:

-Previous restaurant/catering experience preferred - any supervisory, or previous lead position experience is preferred, but not required
-Previous customer service experience is required (Minimum 6 months)
-Previous experience with POS systems a plus


License/Certification:

Preferred
ServSafe Certification


Work Schedule:

Standard Schedule: 6:30am- 2:30pm and days will vary. Schedule may vary schedule based on business needs.

Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

The hourly wage of $18.75 is the anticipated starting wage for any candidate hired for this position.
This is a full-time appointment. Additional Information:

The Wisconsin Union operates from several buildings on the UW-Madison campus including Memorial Union, Union South, Fluno Center, Pyle Center, University Club, Red Gym, and the Student Activity Center. The Wisconsin Union is a financially self-supporting division of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Financial support for the organization is provided by income earned by over thirty food service units and a variety of nonfood units such as games, guest rooms, space rentals and campus vending. Substantial support is also provided by student fees. The total annual organizational budget is approximately $60 million dollars.
