General Information: Become a valuable part of the JMU community by assisting with caring for the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum, a lush forest sanctuary located on campus in the heart of the stunning Shenandoah Valley. Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include weekly maintenance (weed eating, blowing, mowing), watering, mulching, chipping trails, and cleaning debris. You may also assist with planting and weeding. Tools used include but are not limited to: weed eater, blower, walk-behind mower, hand tools such as pruners, loopers, trowel, shovel, rake, mattock, rock bar, etc. Vehicles driven include John Deer Gator and Polaris ATVs and golf carts. Qualifications: This position begins after May 15 and concludes by mid-August (exact date negotiable). You must have held a valid driver's license for 2 years and be 19 or older. Conditions of Employment: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
