Clarity Consultants is assisting its client in a phased program to modernize its approach to instructional design. This is a multi-year program, with approximately 60 curriculums to be redesigned and developed.

Quality assurance plays a crucial role in ensuring that all learning materials meet the highest standards of accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness within the training program. This role reports directly to the program manager to help curate and improve the governance system for the entire program. The Quality Assurance Specialist will work across several different projects at one time.

Key Responsibilities



  • Ensure Competency Framework Compliance: Verify that all team deliverables meet the established competency framework requirements, supporting the program's goal of delivering top-tier (3.5 on the 1-4 scale of learner interaction) standardized training content.
  • Technical Accuracy in Design Documents: Collaborate with instructional designers (ID) to review design documents, ensuring all technical details are accurate and complete. Perform fact-checking as needed to maintain high standards of reliability. Flag concerns for the ID to verify with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and technical content owners (TCOs).
  • Ensure Compliance with Style Guide: Ensure all client deliverables comply with the eLearning style guide and that consultants follow their procedures and workflow.
  • Storyboard Standards and Template Adherence: Review storyboards to confirm they align with established standards and utilize the correct templates, ensuring consistency across all learning materials.
  • Storyline 360 Alpha Lesson Evaluation: Assess the initial (alpha) versions of lessons for overall structure, functionality, and accuracy, including verifying images and media. Provide constructive feedback and collaborate with instructional designers and developers to implement necessary improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain active communication and coordination with the style strategist, quality control, and the project manager to align quality assurance efforts with overall program goals and timelines.

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Through 2025, with the possibility to extend

Hours: Part-time for April and May; full-time hours starting in June

Location: Virtual

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology, Business, English, Education, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of QA or QC experience, ideally in adult learning, contributing to a deeper understanding of quality standards in educational content.
  • Background in eLearning as an instructional designer, developer, or training video producer is required. Storyline 360 experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, particularly SharePoint and MS Project, and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) to manage and organize documentation and training materials.
  • Demonstrates a meticulous eye for detail and an understanding of design aesthetics, ensuring learning materials are accurate and visually engaging. Works methodically to meet project deadlines.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams, balancing priorities to maintain workflow and meet project goals
  • Skilled in identifying potential issues within content, structure, and design and implementing effective solutions to maintain quality standards.
  • Familiarity with technical content, especially related to equipment in the oil and gas sector, addressing the unique challenges of content accuracy and relevance
  • Maintains clear, coherent records of communications, changes, and responsibilities, ensuring traceability and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prior experience in the oil and gas industry, providing insight into sector-specific training needs is preferred but not required.???????

The pay range for this is $50.00 to $55.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and specific work location.
