Job Title: Engineering Project Manager - Standalone Accessories

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join the Hardware Engineering organization, specifically within our Standalone Accessories team. In this role, you will oversee the development and implementation process of standalone accessories, ensuring that projects meet the overall program objectives while supporting our Packaging Design group, development planning, and validation cycles. You will be responsible for driving day-to-day activities, collaborating across teams, and ensuring seamless product integration and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Project Leadership: Manage the execution of successful projects by identifying and directing resources, creating project timelines, and ensuring deadlines are met.



  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication and coordination across engineering, operations, marketing teams, and OEM partners to ensure schedule and quality goals are met.



  • Issue Resolution & Critical Path Management: Proactively identify and resolve project issues, ensuring critical path management and timely escalations.



  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular project updates, status reports, and action items to both individual contributors and executive management, utilizing Pulse for clear communication.



  • Product Integration: Drive product integration efforts to ensure compliance with trade laws and consumer regulations, enabling global product shipment.



  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of standalone accessories from New Product Introduction (NPI) to End of Life (EOL), driving consensus and accountability across teams.



  • Quality Control & Testing: Lead First Article Inspections (FAIs) and sync with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to ensure Apple's high-quality standards are met.



  • Material & Logistics Management: Oversee material availability, parts logistics, and factory data accuracy to ensure smooth production processes.



  • Configuration Management: Ensure product data integrity through management of ECOs, AML NRCs, APNs, MPN BOMs, and FAI Tool Administration.




Key Qualifications:




  • Experience: A BS/BA degree or 5+ years of relevant industry experience in engineering project management, particularly within consumer electronics.



  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to distill complex information for various audiences.



  • Multitasking: Ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.



  • Problem Solving: Self-motivated, proactive, with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage ambiguity.



  • Experience with Consumer Electronics: Familiarity with portable consumer electronics and mechanical enclosure parts, as well as product development and manufacturing processes.



  • Cross-Functional Experience: Experience collaborating with Operations, Mechanical Engineering, Design, and Marketing teams.




Preferred Skills:




  • Ability to navigate rapid development cycles and remain calm under pressure.



  • Experience with product development processes and manufacturing operations.
