OVERVIEW: Our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Team is on a journey to build capabilities and bring in new talent to reshape our portfolio for growth in service to enterprise strategic objectives. We will pursue all transaction types, including acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, and joint ventures, to accelerate our growth goals. Our work will facilitate capital deployment decisions and drive post-close value creation for shareholders. This role will be part of the M&A team that reports into the Finance organization and works closely with business leaders and cross-functional partners (Brand, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Human Resources, D&T, Legal, etc.) to lead across many facets of the M&A process, including discovery, valuation, diligence, and integration/separation planning. The Manager will participate in many facets of the portfolio management process and interact with senior-level executives and external advisors to develop recommendations. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Engage with M&A and cross-functional leaders to evaluate and advance portfolio-shaping priorities
- Lead project valuation and due diligence in cooperation with commercial and operational teams, as well as working in concert with the segment executive sponsors through negotiations, deal structuring, and governance design
- Oversee the development of operating financial models used to assess deal value creation and pro forma impacts to General Mills (e.g., discounted cash flow, internal rate of return, growth and margin accretion/dilution, and comparable company/transaction analyses)
- Manage relationships and deliverables of external advisors
- Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to identify and assess risks and opportunities of proposed transactions, including operations, financial, and integration/separation synergies or dis-synergies
- Develop presentation materials supporting M&A strategy and initiatives for internal stakeholders, senior leaders, and the Board of Directors
- Participate in legal negotiations regarding transaction-related contracts with in-house and external counsel
- Lead post-close integration/separation planning efforts and coordinate workstreams with counterparties of the acquired/divested businesses; establish and track Key Performance Indicators and address/action risks identified through due diligence
- Identify and implement best practices to improve how we do M&A at General Mills through industry monitoring, external/internal benchmarking, and M&A Center of Excellence leadership
- Oversee the work of analyst(s) and associate manager(s) on projects as relevant
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, banking, economics, business management, or related fields
- 8+ years in M&A, investment banking, due diligence, finance, or other related experiences
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to influence at all levels of the company to recommend solutions, set prioritization, and drive results
- Strong analytical, strategic, and innovative thinking with bias for action and problem-solving skills
- Proficient across Microsoft Office suite of Products, including Analysis for Office exposure to SAP
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience leading a team
- Previous experience with transactions, due diligence, modeling or other M&A related activities
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working across geographies (currencies) and functional areas in Finance (e.g., Brand, Sales, Corporate)

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $124200.00 - $186400.00 / Annually.
