Griffith Foods is a global manufacturer of food products. We provide a wide range of taste and texture components for food industry customers throughout the world. Position Summary:Describe below the primary purpose and function of this job [in no more than 5 or 6 lines, why does the job exist?]



Provide strategic direction and leadership for global Griffith Foods Food Safety and Quality Systems across all locations and businesses within the portfolio, including all enterprise systems and functional tools.

The role will set and manage all requirements and standards related to FSQS policies and related functions/processes to assure regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, consistency of purpose and improvement in performance.

The candidate for this role must be an expert in FSQS information systems, food safety and quality standards, testing methods and lean/continuous improvement processes within the food industry, by bringing consistency and best practices through communication and evaluation of performance.



Key Roles & Responsibilities: What are the core elements of the job duties, the primary day-to-day responsibilities & activities






  • Indirectly lead and mentor a culturally diverse team of food safety and quality professionals across all global locations, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to review data and results and make key recommendations for areas in need of improvement and focus to assure organization performance at an optimal level.
  • Strong knowledge and capabilities in FSQS information systems include the ability to evaluate current processes for improvement and delivery program management for version control and new functionality.
  • Capabilities to evaluate lean/continuous improvement projects, tracking progress and results, and expansion of successful outcomes to other locations.


  • Understanding the regulatory and functional evaluation of current testing and monitoring procedures with expansion of successful outcomes to other locations.
  • Management of support systems to measure Key Process Indicators, global FSQS policies and connecting systems to provide information and accessibility to all global functions and locations.
  • Provide on-site evaluations of FSQS related Lean projects and provide internal auditing and evaluation capabilities to provide suggestions for improvement and consistency at all global locations.
  • Leads the management of all FSQS functional systems including reports and operational effectiveness.
  • This position will be responsible for managing training systems for all global supply-chain and specific topics/subjects for FSQS.




Functional Knowledge: Describe breadth and depth of knowledge of functional work and activities required




  • Overall responsibility for the management and development of Global Griffith Foods FSQS policies and standards including review and interpretations processes.
  • Conducts audits and evaluations as needed to measure performance at the global operations level.
  • Collect and communicate global performance goals and status, with ability to provide analysis and improvement suggestions. Report as KPI.
  • Set and keep global standards for testing methodologies including discovery of new methods and improvements.
  • Set and keep global standards for micro methodologies including audits and analysis of such labs' performance.
  • Collect and provide global reports on improvement processes such as cost of quality projects and all FSQS projects listed in project management software. Report as KPI.
  • Lead the development and management of global crisis and incident management system.
  • Manage and develop global document library systems used by FSQS.
  • Manage and improve global ERP FSQS systems to ensure appropriate performance and a plan to improve those efforts.
  • Set global standards for Measurement System Analysis and provide training. Assure issues with performance are addressed and improved.
  • Provides global FSQS updates to all other support departments on FSQS key initiatives, challenges, failures, and improvements.
  • Promotes continuous improvement on FSQS processes to achieve stronger linkages between other functions and the company overall process.
  • Works with other functional heads to achieve company success on initiatives.
  • Audits Griffith Foods sites on food safety and quality systems compliance. Reviews and provides direction for corrective action requirements.

  • Must be an expert in food quality systems, regulatory requirements and food safety concerns within the Griffith Foods portfolio and related industries.
  • Expert in lean and continuous improvement techniques and capabilities.

  • Knowledge of Information Technology Systems.
  • Drive innovation and technological advancements by staying current of industry trends, emerging regulations/technologies and competitive landscape.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, partners, and industry organizations to drive collaboration, innovation and strategic partnerships.

  • Must possess and be able to apply and teach deep levels of Lean and continuous improvement, including complex areas of statistics and statistical analysis.
  • Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex Food Safety and Quality initiatives, drive innovation, and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Make data-driven decisions on solving problems, managing project prioritization and continuous improvement.
  • Develop innovative approaches to meet operational and financial goals.




Impact: Describe the level of responsibility and resulting impact on the business



Responsible for managing projects and ensuring efficient allocation of impactful outcomes within company and industry standards. Role will bring consistency and purpose to understanding performance against goals and objectives. This person will be responsible for teaching and increase the knowledge base of many associates across the organization and within the FSQS organization.



Interpersonal Skills: Describe the level and type of "people skills" that are normally required to do the job



Candidate must be able to train and teach broad and complex subjects across many geographic locations. This person must be able to lead without authority and work to convince and influence associates at all levels and locations of the organization. Must be a good communicator with great strength in writing and developing reports and studies. Must be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders and focus on outcomes for the benefit of the company and our customers.
