Benjamin Moore is seeking a qualified intern to join its in-house Legal Department for a paid summer internship position. The successful candidate will have completed the 1st or 2nd year of law school and will be part of the Benjamin Moore Summer Internship Program.



Responsibilities

During the 8-10 week program, the Legal intern will have an opportunity to understands the overall mission of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals and other aspects of service. The legal intern will be exposed to a variety of areas of the law, including, litigation, distribution, marketing, contracts, as well as general corporate matters, with primary focus on:

    Researching specific questions of law
  • Assisting in the review and drafting of non-disclosure agreements, corporate governance documents, vendor agreements and other documents
  • Assisting with the collection of documents and materials responsive to discovery requests
  • Reviewing and tracking marketing claims


Qualifications

  • Have an interest in the Coating Industry
  • 10-week commitment (June 3rd - August 9th)
  • Collaborate and contribute to special projects and presentation
  • Computer proficiency and excellent communication skills
  • Professionalism in quality of work, punctuality, attendance, and attitude
  • Be organized, dependable, and have good judgment
  • Display initiative and stay engaged while gaining industry knowledge
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities
  • Maintain a good working relationship with peers
  • Know and adhere to the Company's mission, vision, values, and policies.
  • Maintain professional dress and conduct conducive to the corporate environment
  • Perform other duties as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
