As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) at Securian Financial, you are part of a talented team of HR professionals working in a highly matrixed and collaborative role. This role is responsible for partnering with our senior leadership team to drive talent strategies to achieve business results. The ideal candidate understands the unique needs of supporting a wide array of fast-paced customer service functions ranging from sales and distribution to underwriting and actuarial. Candidates must be able to flex between strategic talent management and tactical problem solving.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and drive talent strategies that align with key business objectives through a deep understanding of strategic goals.

  • Provide strategic HR consultation to business leaders to support the execution of business plans and partner with HR Centers of Excellence to maximize the strategic value of HR.

  • Offer guidance to leaders on strategic HR initiatives, including organizational design and change management.

  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to execute cyclical talent management efforts, including talent review, succession planning, performance enablement, talent calibration, and compensation planning.

  • Provide counsel to leaders on HR-related questions and triage with the HR Centers of Excellence to resolve day-to-day HR-related challenges.

  • Leverage HR data to drive strategies that improve retention, engagement, and diversity & inclusion outcomes.

  • Understand the enterprise strategy and ongoing transformation of our business while keeping a pulse on internal and external trends impacting talent.

  • Lead HR project work and/or large-scale cross-functional teams as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Human Resources Business Partner experience.

  • Proven experience providing strategic HR consultation and solutions to senior business leaders.

  • Strong strategic and critical thinking, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to leverage and analyze data to inform talent strategies and decision-making.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative nature.

  • Outstanding planning, organization, and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to instill trust and influence at all levels.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR.

  • Financial Services industry experience.

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$86,500.00 - $160,000.00

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
