Salary/Wage Range: $27.53 - $40.38 (Classified Hourly Pay Level 14)
Salary/Compensation Statement:

  • Hourly wage reflects an approximate annual salary of $57,269 - $83,986.
  • New employees may not be placed on the salary schedule higher than any current employee in this classification with the same or greater number of years' relevant experience and education.
  • Lane's robust Benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental and vision insurance, basic term life insurance, long term disability, vacation leave, personal time and paid sick leave.
  • Lane Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Required QUALIFICATIONS


Required Education:
Bachelor's degree with coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Required Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in accounting, grant management/accounting, or financial reporting. One (1) year of the required experience must be in a lead or supervisory capacity.

Position Purpose:
This position coordinates and leads the work of College Finance employees. This position plans work, assigns tasks, provides priorities, and trains staff. This position is available to answer questions and troubleshoot problems daily and may have input into hiring decisions and performance evaluations.
Essential Functions:
Grant Financial Management & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate financial records for all grants, ensuring proper fund allocation and compliance
  • Develop and review grant budgets to align with program objectives and institutional policies
  • Monitor expenditures, ensuring funds are used appropriately within the grant period
  • Support grant proposals by providing financial data and budget projections
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and private grant regulations, including OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200)
  • Verify that all grant expenses adhere to institutional policies and funding agency guidelines


Financial Reporting & Reconciliation

  • Prepare and submit financial reports as required by grant agreements
  • Perform regular reconciliations of grant accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Process drawdowns, reimbursements, and financial transactions in coordination with the finance team
  • Maintain thorough documentation for audit readiness and compliance
  • Assist with annual audits, ensuring accurate records and adherence to grant terms
  • Process journal entries and adjustments as needed
  • Integrate grant financials into institutional accounting systems

Collaboration & Training

  • Provide financial guidance to program directors, faculty, and administrative staff managing grant funds
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for grant accounting
  • Offer training and support to grant project managers on compliance and financial reporting
  • Advise grant writers and project managers on best financial practices for grant applications

Other Duties

  • Stay current on evolving grant regulations and best practices
  • Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned
  • Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision Statement:
Reports to and works under the guidance of the Controller. Work is performed independently based on previous knowledge and professional judgment, according to local, state, and federal regulations, applicable laws, College policies and program guidelines.

This position may coordinate and lead the work of Administrative Specialists, Project Specialists, hourly employees, volunteers and/or student workers. This position plans work, assigns tasks, provides priorities, and trains staff. This position is available to answer questions and troubleshoot problems daily.
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that include office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee is able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day. Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Work safely.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to provide support to employees working to meet accreditation standards through evaluation and assessment of student outcomes.
  • Ability to use independent judgment, make critical decisions and exercise leadership.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently coordinate the project/program assigned.
