Controls Systems Tech Intern

What you will do

This internship is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. This position will be for the summer break term with the possibility to continue further into the semester. Under the guidance of a full-time JCI employee, the intern will be expected to perform HVAC or Fire Alarm design, create submittals, and perform general technical work in the district. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below.

How you will do it:

• Work with experienced JCI employees at construction projects
• Learn about HVAC systems both in the office and building construction/renovation sites
• Learn how to install, inspect, commission, and troubleshoot systems
• Understand customer needs
• Review proposals and understand Bid Day interactions with customers
• Prepare sales presentations for contractors, building owners and consulting engineers

What we look for:

Required Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at Henry Ford Community College
• Must have transportation to job site
• Must be able to work from 7am to 3:30pm and /or overtime work as needed.
• Pursuing Certification in HVAC, Construction, Electrical.
• Available to work full-time for 40 hours/week over the summer break.
• Strong technical proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft products
• Must be highly organized and must be a good communicator
• U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
• Must embrace change and handle shifts in direction
