Safety & Compliance Manager

STS Technical Services is expanding, and we are looking for a Safety & Compliance Manager to join our growing safety team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving safety compliance systems, conducting audits, enforcing preventative measures, and ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.

Safety & Compliance

• Help maintain and improve all safety compliance systems, including:
  
  
  
  • Operator training (forklift, overhead crane, aerial lifts, etc.)
    
  • Respirator program
    
  • Lockout/Tagout procedures
    
  • Hazard communication
    
  • Safety audits and machine guarding
    
  • General safety rules
    
  
  
• Assist with new hire safety training and periodic environmental compliance requirements.
  
• Conduct facility safety audits (walk-throughs) to identify risks and ensure compliance.
  
• Carry out and verify corrective actions following audits.
  
• Oversee paint department audits/inventory and PPE assessments for each department.
  

Risk Management & Preventative Measures

• Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative safety measures.
  
• Organize toolbox meetings and learning opportunities for employees.
  
• Prepare safety reports with recommendations for corrective action.
  
• Support ongoing production processes and new operational procedures to align with safety standards.
  
• Enforce safe behavior and workplace practices at all times.
  

Incident Investigation & Emergency Response

• Assist the Safety Team in investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
  
• Coordinate emergency response activities (medical, fire, severe weather), including updating plans and leading drills.
  
• Develop, maintain, and monitor compliance with OSHA regulations.
  
• Perform routine process audits, such as crane operations.
  
• Support the Safety Team and management with various duties as required.
  

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with Production, Safety, Quality, HR, and Upper Management to implement safety initiatives.
  
• Foster a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization.
