Overview

Element is seeking an Operations Manager to manage the daily operations of our testing facility, which includes , 
but is not limited to managing resources to ensure that delivery and operational objectives, along with client
expectations, requirements, and lab or department performance objectives are met or exceeded. This role has a
high focus on increasing operational efficiency while driving continuous improvement. This role will report directly
to the General Manager.

Salary: $100,000- $120,000 DOE


Responsibilities

    Responsible and accountable to drive and deliver to annual Operational Plan commitments, including revenues, profit, working capital, and operational performance.
  • Responsible for contributing to the development and execution of both short and long term operational goals through an in-depth understanding of all resource needs within the facility to maintain efficient operations.
  • Participate in the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract(s).
  • Actively maintain contact and relationships with customer contacts and participate as necessary to cultivate new accounts by collaborating with Sales and Business Development Team.
  • Work in concert with Sales and Business Development Team to provide technical expertise and consultation for clients as needed.
  • Challenges inefficient or ineffective work processes and offers constructive alternatives.
  • Provides guidance, direction, and developmental opportunities that allow staff talents to be identified and groomed.
  • Likewise, provides direction and counseling to under performing employees. Builds teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.
  • Provides positive leadership and representation of Company to the public, customers, vendors, and to all employees through membership in professional organizations, conducting leadership and employee meetings, and visiting work areas.
  • Responsible for championing and execution of continuous improvement projects within the facility. This includes a focus on continual improvement of processes and management methods resulting in workflow optimization.
  • Ensures compliance with all Company policies including but not limited to Terms and Conditions, Trade Compliance, treatment of others, moral code of conduct, and Employee Handbook.
  • Monitors operational metrics and identifies and resolves operational issues at the earliest stages possible.


Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business
  • Driven to continuously improve and grow.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role
  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety with extensive knowledge of the current suite of testing capabilities
  • Ability to read and interpret test specifications, drawings, test plans and/or blueprints
  • Understanding of continuous improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, etc. preferred
  • Must be fluent in the use of Outlook, Excell, PowerPoint applications.
