Description and Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ideating/executing/evaluating consumer tech and business PR media campaigns
  • Involvement from strategy development to execution- plan, develop, implement, pitch and secure media for campaigns
  • Undercover and develop story opportunities to pitch Motorola, its products, innovations and leaders
  • Strong understanding of media landscape/evolving communications environment
  • Recommend new areas and angles to stimulate awareness of Motorola, its technology in North America
  • Contacts in broadcast, print, and digital across lifestyle, tech, and business areas is a plus
  • Day-to-day contact with all media on behalf of Motorola; maintain/foster key relationships
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Bring new ideas and a fresh perspective to the team and our way of working
  • Partner with internal Motorola team members to execute launch plans for new productions. This will include logistical items such as event planning or scheduling media attendees for the launch and tactical pitching to secure coverage for launch
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments within Motorola for maximum impact
  • Think creatively and identify new opportunities for the team
  • Manage inbound media and influencers inquires in the PR inbox with the global team
  • Help prep senior leaders for external events, etc.
  • Coverage tracking and reporting

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of media relations experience
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PR agency experience preferred
  • Experience with tech media preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to write concise, engaging and informative copy.
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Flexibility- we are always moving so quickly and efficiently, this person needs to be comfortable with switching directions quickly
  • Media relations: always on and up to date on current news
