Position Summary

In anticipation of closing our recently-announced agreement to acquire the charitable gaming business of Grover Gaming (https://grovergaming.com/), Light & Wonder (https://www.lnw.com/) is growing our team to deliver the best games, culture, and results in the industry. This new business will expand Light & Wonder's (L&W) cross-platform leadership, as the premier developer of games across Gaming, Social, iGaming, and (soon-to-be) Charitable Gaming channels. Grover Gaming is already a high-performing, culture-first organization, and we are excited to unlock L&W's deep portfolio of content that we know will exceed customer and player expectations. This role will be based in Las Vegas or Reno Nevada and is contingent on the acquisition closing, which is currently planned for early May.

The position is ideal for an ambitious mechanical engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Work includes research, development, design, prototyping, testing, analysis, for implementing new designs or enhancements to mechanical systems deployed in company product lines. Apply in-depth knowledge of scientific and engineering principles in resolving technical problems, investigating technologies, and developing new products. Performs most assignments independently, within scope of defined program, with direction from senior level engineers and engineering management.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create documentation (drawings, specifications, ECOs) for electro-mechanical parts and assemblies.

  • Lead designer of parts and assemblies.

  • Complete assignments within approved project budget and schedule parameters.

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplined development team of engineers, designers and technicians.

  • Maintain proper documentation to substantiate patent applications and provide technical consultation when requested.

  • Suggest innovations, design improvements and cost reductions for existing products

  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews at key milestones during the project life cycle

  • Participate in prototype through pilot production builds

Qualifications

Training and/or Experience:

  • 5 to 8 years progressive experience in an electro-mechanical product development environment with a proven track record of accomplishments.

  • A background in consumer products is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with major 3D modeling software

  • A solid understanding of Mechanical Drafting procedures and standards.

  • Working knowledge of mechanical design packages (i.e., SolidWorks)

  • Ability to interact and collaborate with immediate team, as well and junior and senior colleagues

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
