Bioinformatics Scientist Intern

You will be part of the Bioinformatics and Data Science team supporting the development of the single-cell assay analysis software. You will be assigned a mentor and work within one of the functional disciplines in the Life Sciences Group. Come join us as part of our internship program as we work on our next breakthrough product. How You'll Make An Impact:



  • Design/code/test new features for single-cell assay analysis software products.
  • Work with Bioinformatics and Chemistry teams to coordinate development of new features and resolve issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a wider team.
  • Ability to present data from capstone project to a broad audience.


What You Bring:



  • Education: Sophomore- or junior-year student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
  • 3.0 minimum GPA.
  • Experience using command-line utilities in a Unix environment.
  • Experience writing code in Python and/or R.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.


The following will be desirable by not essential:



  • Basic understanding of NGS data/workflows.
  • Experience with common bioinformatics tools for secondary analysis of nucleic acid sequencing data.
  • Experience with single-cell technologies.
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services or other cloud-based computing environments.

Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $25 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
