Data Ownership Lead

We are looking for a Data Ownership Lead who is collaborative, innovative, and detail-oriented to join us in our Global Data Acquisition team, based in our headquarters in Brussels, Belgium or in Atlanta, US.

About the role

As a Data Ownership Lead, you will support the acquisition of high-quality healthcare data and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external data providers, driving innovation in data solutions and compliance practices globally.

Who you'll work with

You will work within the Global Data Acquisition team, collaborating with colleagues from IT, Legal, Compliance, Data Office, and external data providers. Together, you'll ensure that UCB acquires and manages healthcare data in alignment with global privacy and regulatory standards.

What you'll do

• Onboard data from external providers and internal stakeholders, ensuring proper governance.
• Maintain and update the UCB Global Data Catalog, ensuring accurate metadata and information.
• Provide guidance on data lifecycle management, from onboarding to retirement.
• Ensure compliance with global privacy frameworks like HIPAA, CCPA, and GDPR.
• Lead risk management strategies to mitigate non-compliance issues.
• Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams on remediation activities when needed.

Interested? For this role we're looking for the following education, experience, and skills:

• Master's or Doctoral degree in a quantitative field preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience working with pharmaceutical data.
• Expertise in healthcare data and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, CCPA, GDPR).
• Strong collaboration skills to engage with internal and external teams.
• Proven experience with data governance and compliance processes.
• Ability to drive innovation in data solutions while ensuring compliance.
