General Information:

We seek a vibrant theatre artist as a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor to teach acting, starting August 2025. Areas of expertise should include at least one of the following: scene study (such as Meisner, Hagen, Adler, Chekhov, Stanislavski), directing, voice, or movement and physical theatre (including, but not necessarily limited to, devising and/or non-Eurocentric performance.) Coursework might include acting, directing, voice, movement, and/or devising.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Teach a variety of classes, including scene study and acting in multiple genres.
* Direct one play in the spring of 2026.
* Participate in service, including administrative committees at the level of the school, college, university.

Qualifications:

Required:
* M.F.A., Ph.D., or equivalent professional experience in acting, directing, interdisciplinary performance, or related areas.
* Demonstrate a commitment to the values of teaching theatre within a liberal arts curriculum.
* Demonstrate an engagement with, and understanding of, contemporary theatre trends, playwrights, and modalities.

Preferred:
* Teaching experience in higher education.
* Demonstration of creative accomplishment as a professional actor, director, and/or theatre-maker.
