Electroneurodiagnostic END Technician I- Neurodiagnostics Department- 12-Week Contract

This is a temporary 12-week contract position that will primarily report to VCU Health facilities in downtown Richmond. This position requires flexibility to various working hours (day shift, night shift and weekends) given 24/7 operations.

The Electroneurodiagnostic Technician TTWP job performs routine electroneurodiagnostic procedures using established protocols and procedures in a clinical lab, inpatient and epilepsy unit setting including EEG, AEEG, and EMU. The specialty procedures performed are Polysomnogram, Wada Testing, EP, NCV testing, as well as intraoperative monitoring of EEG, EP, EMG and NCV procedures. This position also serves as the technical resource for the Electroneurodiagnostic Technician I.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoke Potential Technologist (ABRET) registry in at least one (1) AMA approved electroneurodiagnostic field

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
Current ABRET, AAET or AANEM registry in one (1) AMA approved electroneurodiagnostic field Current CPR certification

Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of 1 year of basic medical, patient care related experience
Experience and proficiency in two (2) electroneurodiagnostic modalities (e.g. EEG, AEEG, EMU, Polysomnogram, etc.)

Experience PREFERRED:
Two or more years of work experience in electroneurodiagnostic lab setting

Education/training REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Education/training PREFERRED:
Graduate of Electroneurodiagnostic Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program

Independent action(s) required:
Takes initiative to acquire and maintain knowledge base.
Participates in conferences and technical training.

Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A

Additional position requirements: Weekends and holiday coverage for the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and STAT EEG procedures.
