The Stoughton Area School District is accepting applications for a Day Lead Custodian at River Bluff Middle School.
Hiring Administrator: Luther Sperle, Custodial Operations Supervisor 320 North St Stoughton WI 53589 608-877-5073 Job Summary: The District Day Custodian is responsible for maintaining the physical facilities in order to provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop. Reports To: Custodial Operations Supervisor Essential Job Functions: 1. Set-up and take-down of equipment for events. 2. Tasks such as organization, driving, moving furniture, coordinating and delivering supplies, cleaning floors, washing walls and windows, climbing ladders, vacuuming of carpets, waxing floors, realigning desks and chairs, emptying trash, cleaning restrooms, dumping waste, and picking up litter from grounds. 3. Keeps buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas, neat and clean at all times. 4. Monitor heating and air conditioning systems. 5. Open and close buildings before and after school functions and building security checks. 6. Operate and maintain custodial equipment. 7. Restocks disposable items and maintains proper inventory of custodial supplies and apply their safe use. 8. Identifies and implements security procedures. 9. Prevents, identifies, and removes safety hazards. 10. Works cooperatively with supervisors, building principals, staff, students, parents, and the community to respond to issues of immediate concern. 11. Complies with the absence policies along with the District Employee Handbook. Requirements of Essential Functions: Constant (66-100%) bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, walking, squatting, reaching and stair climbing in order to perform the essential job functions. Lifting: 0 - 10 pounds constantly (66-100%) 11 - 50 pounds frequently (34-66%) Over 50 pounds occasionally (1-33%) Marginal Job Functions: 1. Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor, Buildings and Grounds Supervisor or Building Principal. 2. Tasks such as organizing, inventory and reorder of warehouse supplies, delivering food from the prep kitchen to all school buildings, delivering mail to all school buildings, additional cleaning of the maintenance shop and restrooms, daily cleaning and setups during the day at the Administration and Educational Services Center. 3. Tasks such as cleaning furniture, raking and mowing lawns, snow removal, sanding or salting walkways, driveways, parking areas, and steps as appropriate. 4. All duties assigned which relate to the functions of the job. Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
1. High School degree or equivalent. 2. Good communications skills (oral, written and technology) in order to work effectively with outside suppliers, community, parents, students, and staff. 3. Good manual and mechanical ability. 4. The ability to work independently in a variety of environmental situations including inside building, outside building, and confined spaces. Essential job functions are those functions which are essential to attaining job objectives. Marginal job functions are those functions which also need to be done but are done on an occasional basis.
