Summary: Sustainability Internship supporting our global Environment, Social, and Governance initiatives. This opportunity is temporary employment for students who are seeking a summer internship. This is a paid internship for 40 hours a week (except holidays) and begins in May/June 2025 and ends in August 2025. Skills Required: Technically trained and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. Ideally having familiarity working with engineering design or data analysis software. Excellent communicator (verbal and written), collaborative, and having presentation skills. The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated student who is ready for a challenging internship in a fast-paced environment. Essential Functions: This role will own or assist with the following projects: 1) Use state of the art ESG software to track Green House Gas (GHG) emissions of Benchmark manufacturing sites around the world and provide a monthly report of GHG emissions. Leverage data to drive progress towards 15% absolute reduction goal by year end 2025. 2) Review customer inquiries for sustainability data and develop draft responses based on data that is available in our ESG SW platform and published in past Benchmark sustainability reports. 3) Monitor customer and competitor's use of ESG reporting SW and standards such as ISO 50001, SASB, TCFD, GRI and UNSDG's. Provide a report summarizing the maturity of industry sustainability reporting and competitively rate and rank Benchmark versus the market standards. 4) Extract data from the ESG software platform provided by our global manufacturing operations to provide site level GHG emissions and water withdrawal data for completion of the CDP Climate and Water questionnaires. Work with internal/external auditors to assess the overall data quality and demonstrate that the data input into the platform meets audit criteria for Limited Assurance. 5) Help with gathering articles and high-quality photos for the Sustainability Report materials via various sources including internal and external sources. Develop a system for tracking the data for external reporting. Education: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or SustainabilityGeographical Location: Arizona:Tempe Physical Location: Tempe, AZ - Headquarters Shift: 1st Shift Work Schedule: M-F 0800-1700 Full Time Export Control: This job position may include access to controlled information or technology covered under applicable U.S. export control laws.
