GENERAL SUMMARY: Position is responsible for keeping the organization compliant with agreed upon ISO and ASQ Quality program requirements and conducting pre-audits and planning to pass all external audits. The position will be responsible for driving down escapes by holding the organization accountable for 8D's and other Root Cause Analysis initiatives. This is a decision-making position with authority to define, execute, or control projects/processes and to be responsible for the outcome. This position will interface with other departments as well as customer representatives. Incumbent will develop and operate quality control systems, apply and analyze testing and inspection procedures, use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices, and demonstrate understanding of human factors and motivation. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Incumbent must be familiar with quality cost concepts and techniques and demonstrate the knowledge and ability to develop and administer management information systems and audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent education and experience. 2 to 3 years quality systems experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand/walk within the manufacturing facility. Ability to communicate, write, type, use and operate office equipment. Ability to exert up to thirty-five pounds of force to move objects. Ability to work in conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
