DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Your main duty will be to assess locations for pest management and apply pesticides to manage the spotted lanternfly and its associated hosts. This role requires you to engage with property owners to clarify the details of survey programs, as well as to examine trees or install traps on private properties prior to initiating any treatment activities. You will conduct visual inspections of host plants to identify any indications of the target organisms and adhere to the data entry procedures established by the headquarters team. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing pest surveys, carrying out site evaluations, and keeping an updated weekly survey log. Interested in learning more? - Limited term full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position will be home-headquartered if applicant lives in Luzerne, Lackawanna, Pike, Monroe, Carbon, Schuylkill, Northumberland, Montour, Columbia, Wyoming, Bradford, Susquehanna, Sullivan or Wayne County, the assigned state vehicle must be parked in one of these counties and the work day will start at 8:00 AM at the location of the assigned state vehicle.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- An associate's degree in forest technology; or
- Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Condition of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
