Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Mid-Level Cloud Systems Administrator to join our IT team at our headquarters in Huntsville, AL. This role will work under the direction of our Senior Systems Administrator, focusing on the administration, maintenance, and security of Trideum's Microsoft Government Community Cloud High (GCC High) environment, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills to support both end-users and IT staff.

What You'll Do



  • Microsoft 365 (GCC High Focus):

    • Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services within the GCC High environment, including Exchange Online (managing DMARC, DKIM, SPF, and performing message traces), SharePoint Online, and Teams.
    • Manage user accounts, licenses, security groups, and policies within the Microsoft 365 admin center.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 services.


  • Azure and Entra ID (GCC High Focus):

    • Assist in the configuration, deployment, and management of Azure resources (virtual machines, storage, networking, applications) within the GCC High tenant.
    • Manage user and group accounts, access controls, and security policies within Entra ID.
    • Implement and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations with Azure/Entra ID.
    • Help with internal and external guest user provisioning and permission management for Azure services.


  • Microsoft Defender and Purview (GCC High Focus):

    • Assist in the implementation, configuration, and monitoring of Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, and other Defender suite components.
    • Contribute to the management and enforcement of data loss prevention (DLP) policies and compliance settings within Microsoft Purview.
    • Monitor security alerts and assist in incident response activities.


  • Automation and Platform Engineering:

    • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine administrative tasks and resource deployments in both on-premises and Azure environments.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions.


  • On-Premises Infrastructure (Hyper-V):

    • Assist in the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Hyper-V virtual machines and related infrastructure.
    • Participate in the management of on-premises storage and networking resources.


  • Monitor and troubleshoot hybrid Azure/on-premises systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to implement secure and scalable solutions.
  • Stay updated on the latest features, best practices, and security considerations for Microsoft 365, Azure, Defender, and Purview, specifically within the GCC High environment.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to end-users on cloud-related issues.


Requirements and Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems administration with a significant focus on Microsoft cloud technologies.
  • Microsoft 365 Administration (within a GCC High environment preferred) including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams administration.
  • Microsoft Azure (within a GCC High environment preferred) / Entra ID: Experience with core Azure services, SSO implementations, user and group management in Entra ID, and Azure RBAC.
  • Microsoft Defender / Purview: Familiarity with configuring and monitoring Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, and implementing data loss prevention (DLP) policies in Microsoft Purview.
  • Microsoft PowerShell: Proven experience in scripting for automation of administrative tasks.
  • Hyper-V Virtualization: Experience in managing and troubleshooting Hyper-V environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Admin Centers.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking principles, including virtual networks (vNets), subnets, and network security groups (NSGs)
  • Strong traditional networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices in a cloud environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong writing skills for clear documentation of procedures, incidents, and technical information.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management capabilities.
  • Self-motivation with dedication to continuous learning.
  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance is required.


Desired Qualifications



  • Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate certification (AZ-104) or other relevant Microsoft certifications.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment (e.g., government, healthcare).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Bicep.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Azure Sentinel).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages beyond PowerShell (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience with backup and recovery solutions in Azure and on-premises.
  • Understanding of ITIL framework and best practices.
  • Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • A proactive approach to learning and staying updated with new technologies.
