Technical Specialist IIIin GAC Savannah Unique Skills: DUTIES: Provide technical leadership and oversight of current and future High-Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) and Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL) activities for all company aircraft models. Champion new development processes and tools, including but not limited to HIRF and IEL compliance methods and simulation. Provide mentorship to Electrical Systems Engineers to increase overall competency in HIRF and IEL. Represent company as Subject Matter Expert to certification authorities and industry working groups for HIRF and IEL. Work on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development. Be responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope. Make technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities. Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge. Lead the development of innovative principles and ideas. Act independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements. Work under consultative direction, using independent judgment to accomplish objectives. Develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Conceive and plan investigations of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field. Thirteen years of experience in job offered or related engineering position required. Ten years of experience required in the development and certification of aircraft and complex integrated systems. Ten years of experience required with FAA/EASA part 25 certification with emphasis on High Intensity Radiated Fields and Indirect Effects of Lightning. Any experience required with the functional and physical integration of aircraft systems and with the aircraft and system level compliance approaches outlined in ARP5415B and ARP5583A. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field and thirteen years of experience, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field and eleven years of the above-listed experience or a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field and nine years of the above-listed experience. Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
