About the Role: We are looking for a highly skilled Operations Leader to join the Gore Medical Finished Goods Supply Chain (FGSC) team, supporting New Product Development. In this role, you will represent FG Supply Chain for all new product development and integration efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of the FGSC value streams for all products in alignment with business and supply chain strategies to ensure stable, profitable and scalable products and processes at launch. This position will be located at our Fisher Point facility in Flagstaff, Arizona or our Phoenix 3 facility in Phoenix, Arizona, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction for FGSC NPD support activities, including both internally developed as well as externally developed products and contract manufacturing
- Establish and refine standardized processes to ensure FGSC support requirements are accurately accounted for in NPD project scopes and timelines
- Work with NPD Core Team counterparts (NOLs) to define priorities, constraints, and interdependencies for project deliverables and develop mutually agreed milestone commitments for FGSC activities that meet NPD team goals and ensure long term scalability and reliability of FGSC global processes and systems
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain & FGSC leaders to develop and ensure sustainment of manufacturability goals and key performance indicators for the products throughout the development life cycle ensuring on-time launches with a reliable supply chain
- Drive operational plans for life cycle scalability, launch readiness, and product commercialization across the Finished Goods supply chain
- Partner with the business and functional leadership to understand priorities and objectives and make appropriate commitments on what the teams can deliver
- Ensure that historic root causes of issues that prevent reliable supply (safety, quality, process, etc.) are considered and addressed during NPD product and process design
- Establish clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and act immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior
- Establish and promote a continuous improvement environment and ensure the application of lean principles
- Facilitate the development of a future state vision and roadmap for how FGSC will support speed of innovation in the future
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with an operations, supply chain, or technical emphasis, OR a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated equivalent experience in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 7 years demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years leading other leaders
- Experience driving results related to cost effective and reliable supply of commercial product by holding teams accountable to metrics, goals, and timeline commitments; Track record of effective planning, team-building, and organization skills with a strong bias toward execution and results
- Ability to develop a working understanding of FGSC processes, digital systems, and integrations and articulate the considerations and constraints relative to the needs of new product development teams
- Demonstrated success driving standardization and common processes to improve effectiveness by utilizing operational excellence/lean manufacturing concepts
- Clear understanding of how the Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations functions influence business outcomes, and ability convey connections and interdependencies to other functional leaders through strong financial acumen, scenario development, and option analysis
- Experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment with clear understanding of equitable practices. Successful track record of fostering a positive, engaging team environment with experience leading remotely
- Ability and willingness to travel 5-10% is required, may increase based on location; The first year may be up to 20%
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in coordinating across New Product Development (NPD) teams to integrate project timelines and deliverables within key constraints, and influence with a data-based approach
- Skilled in developing, implementing, and optimizing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project coordination, execution and integration
- Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate and communicate across departments (possible examples: R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sterilization, Labeling, Packaging, etc.) to ensure seamless integration from development into commercialization
