Job Description

General Description:
Manages and directs the orderly flow of materials through the manufacturing cycle under the influence of the Materials Manager. Creates effective ways to prevent waste and inefficiency in production planning processes. Plans and prioritizes manufacturing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay. Determines equipment, WIP, and raw materials needed to cover production demand. Maximize utilization of scheduling resources like SAP, MRP, DRP, and MPS systems.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree preferred or comparable training through work experience in the wiring industry.
Inventory control management.
Must have excellent verbal and written skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills.
SAP Knowledge
Must be proficient in Word, Excel and other software products and have a very good aptitude for information systems.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prioritization and sequencing scheduled orders through SAP, MRP, DRP, and MPS (ADVARIS) systems to determine products and quantities of production on the most efficient manufacturing equipment.
Coordinate production schedules and accommodate priority requirements.
Performing cycle counts and review WIP and raw material to keep obsolete inventory at a minimum
Coordinate the workflow for manufacturing operations from the sales quote of items until the material has been completed and processed into finished goods, ready to ship
Analyze actual loading vs. capacity and identify bottlenecks as well as under-load situations.
Coordinate with purchasing, production managers and plant supervisors to improve scheduling reliability
Support and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Logistics team.
Procurement of raw materials utilizing SAP and ProcureIt to support the master production schedule.
Other duties as assigned.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Requires the ability to schedule various departments to meet customer order requirements derived from the customer order, building materials and material specs.
Must understand manufacturing work flows in all areas of the plant
This requires on the job training.
Requires the ability to work effectively with Logistics team, account managers and plant supervisors.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work area may be hot, cold, dust and fumes.
Ability to work in high noise environment (hearing protection is required).
Ability to push pull 50 lbs.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and climb.
Mental alertness to work with machinery
Fast-paced environment, subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity
Continuous mental and/or visual attention with manufacturing functions
