Our growing business is in need of a Systems Engineer at our Corporate office in North Fort Worth. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting critical virtualized infrastructure for Windows and Linux servers in TTI datacenters. This role will also take a proactive approach to monitoring to ensure system availability and resiliency. This hands-on individual will have in depth experience building out Nutanix and/or other HCI clusters and defining backup requirements. Additionally, will be skilled at developing Infrastructure as Code to automate deployment, configuration, and management of infrastructure.

Our Systems Engineers:



  • Provide solutions designs and implementation plans; maintains Server infrastructure which necessitates the ability to design, implement and clearly document open systems architectures, to track lifecycle of technologies, and to create Disaster Recovery plans.
  • Contributes to the development of new ideas and principles in support of Application development and business users such as assessing feasibility for application deployments or application modernization and determining appropriate resource requirements.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex technical issues that may bridge multiple technologies including on-prem and Azure resources.
  • Provides ongoing operational support for our environment consisting of VMware, hyperconverged infrastructure, Windows and Linux systems.
  • Creates standards and documentation of procedure.
  • Trains and leads existing team members on automation practices and is a champion for automation.
  • Rotates on-call for production support.


Education and Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, and 8-10+ years of related professional experience in IT Infrastructure design and administration, or equivalent combination of education or experience preferred.


What we look for:



  • Critical thinking skills to detect and quickly resolve complex issues in a proactive manner.
  • Virtualization - VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or Nutanix Certified Master - MultiCloud Infrastructure (NCM-MCI) preferred.
  • Data Protection and monitoring - Veeam, Varonis, Isilon, SolarWinds experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with VMWare and PowerShell.
  • Server administration - Windows (MCSE), ReHL or AIX experience preferred.
  • Ability to generate meaningful reports from various data sources.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to read, write and understand documentation and procedures pertaining to operation of networks, servers, and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects involving technical implementations or upgrades.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams with a collaborative interpersonal style.
  • Ability to work weekends and after business hours and participate in on-call rotation.


Physical Requirements:



  • Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; to perceive and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
  • Detect and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; converse in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
