Overview

Our Lean Portfolio Management team is growing at Selective and we are looking for an Associate LPM Analyst to join the team! This role will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating various assignments related to our Product Transformation efforts. Key assignments may span across multiple workstreams of the transformation including but not limited to product strategy development, agile planning and execution, governance processes, agile playbook content creation, and agile management tool adoption. The person in this role will be an advocate for the product transformation mindset, practices, and processes.


Responsibilities

  • Accountabilities for an assigned portfolio.
  • Builds knowledge and is a champion of product and agile principles, practices, and competencies.
  • Supports portfolio leaders in all necessary aspects of governance including financial, benefit realization measures, and general reporting.
  • Supports portfolio leaders in creation of objectives and key results, product roadmaps, and solution roadmaps all aligned to the strategy.
  • Builds content for and co-facilitates tailored workshops to advance product maturity.
  • Provides support for the monthly portfolio governance reviews to ensure alignment across business and IT, surface impediments, removes blockers.
  • Participates in and may drive aspects related to transforming our financial reporting practices as we shift from project accounting to product model funding and budgeting concepts.
  • Contributes to enhancements and adoption of agile work management tools (i.e. AzureDevOps, TargetProcess, ApptioOne, SharePoint, templates, excel workbooks).
  • May play the role of scrum master or product owner on a dedicated agile team.
  • Independently own/drive special projects (i.e. customer journey mapping).

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • 0-2 years of business analysis or project management experience preferred
  • 0-2 years direct Agile Scrum or Kanban experience
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make sound decisions
  • Low to Moderate technical domain proficiency. Insurance industry knowledge a plus.
  • Experience with Agile project management software especially Microsoft Azure DevOps and Target Process (preferred)
  • Self starter, proactively seeks help when stuck or clarification is needed
