Learn more at gdeb.com/careers PQA/NQC Receipt Inspector is responsible for, but not limited to, performing the following functions on Contractor furnished material and equipment:
- Perform inspection and measurement in various conditions
- Demonstrate competency in understanding Electric Boat procedures
- Must be able to obtain Receipt Inspection Grade 'A' Qualification
- Must obtain Electronic Static Discharge ESD Qualification
- Coordinate and work with Analysts and Supervisor on proper handling procedures and plans for work
- Pre-plan tools and requirements for scheduled jobs
- Review drawings prior to schedule work
- Pass Jaeger vision testing
- Process Improvements
- Identify and implement ways to improve job functions
Training:
- Maintain training requirements and refreshers (LMS)
- Complete Material Control within 6 months of hire
- Complete Peer to Peer training within 6 month of hire
This position is for 2nd shift and is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1+ years of experience including but not limited to construction, manufacturing, quality assurance, or repair work
- Applicant must be able to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, diagrams, and understand basic layout functions
- Must be available to work all shifts, weekends and extended hours as business needs dictate
- Must be able to successfully pass a Jaeger color vision eye examination
- Must be willing to learn unfamiliar skills based on departmental needs
- May be required obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense based on department needs
Preferred:
- Previous inspection experience and/or material management training
- Previous experience as a trades-person or inspector in the piping, mechanical or structural fields
- Previous experience in receipt inspection
- Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs
- Previous Military/Navy related experience
Skills
- Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goals
- Applicants must possess strong PC skills to include proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel
- Personal integrity and a commitment to uphold the high standards of nuclear work
- Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills
- Must possess an attitude of self-motivation
- Strong PC skills (MS Office suite, Outlook)
