Research Animal Specialist II

Provides all the animal husbandry, facility maintenance, sanitization, health and welfare monitoring.

Essential Functions
- Water and feed animals daily according to schedule and as needed.
- Assists in receiving newly arrived animals and placing orders for new animals.
- Participates in daily care and maintenance of the Animal Facility.
- Participates in care, maintenance and sanitation of animal areas including all cage wash areas.
- Observes animals daily and reports any abnormal findings or unusual behavior to supervisor; records weekly census.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Experience
Previous Animal Care Experience 1-2 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to comprehend instructions relating to animal husbandry and care.
- Basic computer skills proficiency required.
- Basic communication skills in English, both oral and written.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a group.
