The Workflow Automation Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions that optimize business processes within First Mid. This role will primarily focus on leveraging Microsoft Power Automate and Jack Henry Enterprise Workflow (EWF) to enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve compliance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Design and implement workflow automation using Microsoft Power Automate and Jack Henry EWF.
  • Create automated processes for document management, approvals, and compliance tracking.
  • Collaborate with business units to assess business processes and identify opportunities for process automation that increase efficiencies, reduce cost and reduce operational risk.
  • Collaborate with API Development team to build integrations between Power Automate, Jack Henry EWF, and third-party applications.
  • Analyze existing workflows and propose automation strategies to eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Document process improvements and automation impact.
  • Ensure secure and efficient data transfer between systems.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of automated workflows.
  • Ensure all automation complies with banking regulations and internal information security policies.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot workflow issues to ensure reliability and accuracy.
  • Partner with IT, Operations, and Compliance teams to align automation with business needs.
  • Build/maintain knowledge of new technologies or technology opportunities and assist with determining their use for functional business departments to introduce automation.
  • Complete annual required training.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.



Qualifications
Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in automation development, business process improvement, or software integration.
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle incudes design, development, testing, deployment and support responsibilities.


Skills:


  • Able to effectively communication both verbally and in writing, to individuals of various levels of computer/technical skills.
  • Able to handle problems in a professional manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Fast learner with system aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Proficiency in workflow automation tools, including RPA and cloud flows.
  • Experience with API integrations and data connectors.
  • Knowledge of SQL, JSON, and scripting (PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python).
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate or Jack Henry Enterprise Workflow (EWF) is a plus.



At First Mid, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of discretionary short-term incentives (i.e., bonus, incentives, and/or commission).
