Job Summary

The team supports all R&D research, pilot plant SB activities as well as Flavor commercial platforms with qualitative and quantitative data. As such, you will participate on project teams and develop new analytical technologies. While documenting is one part of the role, it's equally important to effectively report on projects and findings to stakeholders.

In this position, you will lead the targeted non-volatile analysis segment of a fast-paced analytical team. This role expands to leading, planning and executing complex technical work under the general direction of technical management (commensurate with level and experience).

You will carefully balance fit-for purpose methods with extensively validated methods.

Summary:

This role involves conducting bench experiments employing a broad knowledge of organic, analytical and physical chemistry. You will exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results for project advancement.

In this position, you will support multiple focus areas within the Taste R&D team. As an overarching objective, the analytical support for developing Pro-Taste molecules is needed.

Examples of the focus:

  • Remaster Meat: analytical support around fat / fatty acid speciation and phospholipid support
  • Reimagine Wellness: analytical support in the development of target (non-volatile) molecules. Targets can originate from modelling as well as complex natural modulator systems.
  • Reimagine Simple: analytical support in clean-label product development

Key Responsibilities:

In order of importance, list the critical responsibilities and skills of this position with the percentage of time devoted to each task. Do not include anything which is less than 5% of the job.

  • Development and documentation of high-throughput analytical processes and workflows. (40%)
  • Analyze and interpret data to provide solutions to technical problems. (30%)
  • Act as a functional representative on project teams and manage assigned project areas. (20%)
  • Team leadership, coaching and development. (10%)

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise lower-level technical professionals.
  • Demonstrated advanced technical knowledge in chromatographic separations (LC, IC, GPC, SEC, etc.) coupled with various detectors (UV, ELSD, RID, hr-MS, etc.), sample preparation and automation.
  • Demonstrated deep expertise in chromatographic method development and validation in complex matrices.
  • Demonstrated sufficient knowledge in chromatographic instrumentation and ability to perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing new analytical technologies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry with more than 3 years of industrial experience
  • MS degree in Analytical Chemistry with more than 9 years of industrial experience in sample preparation, automation, chromatography and other relevant analysis techniques.
